Health check: Are you mentally tough or weak

YOUR MENTAL TOUGHNESS IS YOUR GATEWAY TO FREEDOM

Joe Biden on July 4
The mental toughness of America.
For no man can ever say Trump is not tough, his mindset is always set on winning, and on protecting what he loves. He is unbreakable, just like America once was. We need more mentally tough Americans. — DML
Announcement: Of all the commercials on TV, throughout the years, a favorite of mine was for Ford trucks. The F-150 was sold as being, “Ford Tough!” I love the word “tough”, it reminds me of yesterday: back when the American people had a spine, wouldn’t take NO for answer, but remained classy in the process. Manners were a staple you couldn’t live without, and a business agreement was done with a handshake.
Currently, I operate three newsletters: 47 Report (all things Trump), the DML Report (my daily OpEd), DML Health (holistic health, wellness, and related news), and I’m about to launch DML 360, which focuses heavily on our changing country. Ford Tough — as a country we’ve lost that mojo, but we can get it back. So with my new newsletter, published throughout the week, we will look back on yesterday and compare it to today, thus, helping us to understand what our future holds. If you’re around my age or older, you’re going to love it. The DML 360 newsletter launches next week. As a subscriber to all things DML, you not need do a thing other than look for it in your inbox.
Freedom’s Fight: The Mental Toll of Unfair Treatment
On July 4, 2025, we celebrate the birth of our nation, a land of the free forged through sacrifice, toughness, and resilience. Today, we owe gratitude to President Trump, a lightning rod for liberty, who has battled relentless hurdles and evildoers to restore freedoms eroded over the past four years. Remember a few years ago, when Biden’s COVID-era video message banned large July 4 gatherings, stifling our right to celebrate? Great news is this: Trump’s leadership has shattered those chains, reviving our ability to unite and honor America’s spirit. Yet, his journey—and that of others unfairly targeted—reveals a profound mental toll, one that tests even the strongest among us.
Working with holistic doctors, I’ve learned that our mindset often dictates our health. Trump is a prime example, nearing 80 years old, he remains as sharp and ready for battle as he was at 50.
Trump defines a mentally tough warrior.
False accusations, legal ambushes, and media assaults have sought to discredit his character and work. From impeachment trials to relentless smear campaigns, he’s faced a barrage that would break most. But he always stands his ground, like a warrior. Humbly, I can relate, as I’m cut from the same cloth. Like Trump, I refuse to tolerate attacks on my integrity or family. Like Trump, my fire is fueled by fighting against injustices. If you too are a fighter in mind and heart, if you too have mental toughness, then you know there’s no other choice but to defend yourself, your family, your country, our God, and the truth, to the ends of the earth, no matter the cost.
For warriors, the mental strain is real.
Constant betrayal breeds distrust, leaving us perpetually braced for the next strike—be it physical, financial, or emotional. Be it in business or our personal life, this hyper-vigilance steals peace, forcing a mindset where every ally is a potential threat. There is no way around it for the mental warrior. For those less resilient than Trump or myself, the impact is catastrophic. Unfair treatment—false allegations or public shaming—can devastate the vulnerable. Without the strength to fight back, they internalize lies, spiraling into anxiety, depression, or isolation. The mental toll manifests as sleepless nights, chronic stress, or even physical decline via disease.
Unlike Trump, who thrives on defiance, or myself, someone who battles with unyielding resolve, individuals who are weak-minded risk being consumed by negativity, their self-worth and opportunities eroded by others’ cruelty. Overcoming such adversity requires recognizing one’s value isn’t defined by attacks. In short: Never allow anyone to screw with you.
For those of you suffering from a weak mindset, there is hope. Do not give up on yourself, get support from friends or therapy, or take matters into your own hands by using creative outlets like journaling — write down the changes you want to make, and how you vow to be tough-minded. Read your own words — it can rebuild confidence. There’s power in learning to stand firm, even quietly. Asserting your truth or setting boundaries can be transformative, echoing the courage of our nation’s founders.
For some, adopting a fighter’s mindset—channeling Trump’s tenacity or my refusal to yield—ignites inner strength. This July 4, as we revel in our reclaimed freedoms, let’s honor those who, like Trump, endure relentless assaults yet rise to defend liberty. Their mental battles mirror our nation’s fight for independence—a reminder that freedom, whether personal or collective, demands resilience. We’ve come far from 2020’s restrictions, thanks to warriors who refuse to let evil prevail. I stand proud today knowing I never wore a mask, never took the jab, never social distanced myself. Today, you should stand proud of your fights, and your resolve. And if you are feeling weak, no matter your age, make the change today. Start anew, mentally. Protect your hard-won liberty, defend who you are, what you believe in, and what you love, and support those wounded by unfairness, for it is the tough-minded who will ensure America remains the land of the free.
