DID YOU SAY YOUR NAME IS GEORGE; WHO ARE YOU, AGAIN?

As you are reading this newsletter, ask yourself, “Who was running the country?” It was not Joe Biden..” — DML

BIDEN’S MENTAL HEALTH WAS ON DECLINE — WE ALL SAW IT — BUT HIS WHITE HOUSE DOCTORS IGNORED IT. THAT’S MALPRACTICE OF THE WORST KIND.

I am no fan of Joe Biden or what he stands for politically, but this newsletter is not about politics or Democrats vs. Republicans. This newsletter is about health. And Biden’s mental health went ignored, which is a crying shame and America was put at risk — but it also a form of abuse. The fact that his family, doctors, and closest allies allowed him to operate the country is horrifying, but so too is the stress they placed on him, an elderly man struggling to get through the day.

George Clooney was deeply unsettled after former President Joe Biden failed to recognize him at a star-studded fundraiser in June 2024, according to the upcoming book Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson. The excerpt, published by The New Yorker, describes a “terrifying” moment when Biden, who had known Clooney for years, did not acknowledge the Oscar-winning actor, leaving witnesses stunned. One insider remarked, “It was like watching someone who was not alive,” calling the scene “startling” and “awful.”

The fundraiser, held in Los Angeles, was a high-profile event co-hosted by Clooney and Julia Roberts, raising a record-breaking $30 million for Biden’s campaign. Clooney, who last saw Biden at a Kennedy Center event in December 2022, noticed a stark decline in the president’s condition. Biden appeared “severely diminished,” taking tiny steps and requiring an aide’s guidance. An insider described the encounter as “uncomfortable,” noting a delayed recognition that was particularly jarring given Clooney’s fame and role as host. “You know George,” an aide prompted Biden, who responded vaguely, “Yeah, yeah, thank you for being here.” The authors suggest it was clear Biden did not initially recognize Clooney, leaving the actor “shaken to his core.”

Clooney had previously raised concerns about Biden’s health, having been told by a White House aide that efforts were underway to improve the president’s gait. However, the fundraiser incident revealed issues far beyond physical mobility. “It was not O.K.,” an insider told the authors, emphasizing the awkwardness of Biden’s failure to recognize a longtime acquaintance and key supporter. The moment underscored broader concerns about Biden’s mental and physical capacity, which later fueled public and party debates.

Weeks after the fundraiser, Clooney penned a New York Times op-ed urging Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, citing his performance at the event and a subsequent debate against Donald Trump. “It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fundraiser was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020,” Clooney wrote. In a March 2025 60 Minutesinterview, he defended his decision, stating, “I was raised to tell the truth.” Clooney expressed frustration with the Democratic Party’s reluctance to address Biden’s decline, calling it “profiles in cowardice.”

The book, set for release on May 20, 2025, reportedly draws from over 200 interviews, mostly with Democratic insiders, to chronicle Biden’s final years in office. I find it disgusting that the book’s co-writer, liberal TV anchor Jake Tapper, covered up for Biden on a nightly basis for years but is now monetizing Joe’s mental decline. Tapper is a terrible human being in my opinion.

The book reportedly highlights the fundraiser as a pivotal moment that prompted Clooney’s public break with Biden, a figure he had long supported. Despite his admiration for Biden’s character and past achievements, Clooney believed the president’s condition posed a risk to the party’s electoral prospects. The incident, coupled with Biden’s debate performance, contributed to his decision to exit the race under pressure, endorsing Kamala Harris.

A Biden spokesperson, responding to the book’s claims, noted that the authors did not fact-check with the administration and declined to address specific allegations, asserting that Biden’s presidential decisions and national security responsibilities were never compromised. The fundraiser episode remains a striking anecdote in the narrative of Biden’s waning tenure, reflecting the concerns that shaped the 2024 election cycle. I hope you do not buy the book.

Last word: Joe Biden’s mental decline was center stage for years. Instead of him being a beacon for awareness — allowing people to understand more about mental health issues and cognitive decline, Joe’s illness is being monetized with books, clicks, and social media memes. Sad.
